Plans to demolish four houses in Croydon for four new buildings with almost 70 flats have been approved.

Buxworth Homes Ltd applied to Croydon Council to demolish the four houses at 126-132 Pampisford Road in Purley.

On October 15, the Croydon Council planning department approved the plans.

In its place, four buildings, from two to five storeys high, will be constructed and 66 flats will be delivered for potential residents.

There will be 13 one-bedroom flats capable of housing two people, 38 two-bedroom flats, one capable of housing three people and the rest capable of housing 37 people.

There will also be eight three-bedroom flats capable of housing four people, and seven three-bedroom flats capable of housing seven people.

The proposal states that there will be enough parking spaces for all residents and a total of 146 cycle spaces.

With the planners stating: “The proposals will provide plenty of opportunity for residents to travel without the use of a car.”

After an extensive tree survey, developers have concluded that no trees will have to be knocked down and an additional 49 trees will be planted instead.

Each flat will also have its own private amenities, with private balconies and terraces provided, as well as a communal garden and children’s play space.

Work is expected to commence no later than September 2027.
