Plans have been submitted to open a new Marks and Spencer store on Croydon’s Purley Way.
The store would occupy the former John Lewis at Home site, which closed in 2020.
The new M&S store would employ 114 people in both full-time and part-time roles, if planning is approved, and will include a food section.
A spokesperson for M&S said: “The proposed store at the site will be in addition to the company’s existing store within Croydon town centre. The town centre store will continue be its largest and ‘primary’ store, serving Croydon and surrounding areas.
The new store is like to attract fresh customers from different catchment areas to the store on Croydon High Street, and will include M&S’s popular click and collect service.
The plans for the new store were submitted last month. Public consultation opens on 22 October.
