London Gatwick is preparing to welcome millions of passengers this summer, with its growing route network giving travellers even more choice for holidays, city breaks and visiting friends and family.
This summer, passengers will be able to fly to more than 230 destinations across a record 63 airlines, with 11 new routes and eight new airline partners launched so far this year, further strengthening London Gatwick’s position as one of Europe’s best-connected airports. This momentum will continue in the coming weeks as the airport is set to welcome Air Zimbabwe with a direct service to Harare.
The airport’s busiest days are expected to be the first, second and third Sundays of August, with around 900 flights scheduled on peak dates.
Passengers can choose from a wide range of popular short-haul destinations including Barcelona, Faro and Dublin, alongside long-haul favourites such as Shanghai, Orlando and Cancun.

London Gatwick has also continued to invest in making journeys smoother and more enjoyable for passengers ahead of the busy summer season.
Later this summer, passengers can become the first in the UK to experience airport robot valets, following the launch of a new partnership with Stanley Robotics. The innovative service allows passengers to drive into a dedicated cabin and leave the parking to fully autonomous robots, helping create a faster and more convenient start to their trip.
In the airport, passengers will also benefit from recently refurbished departure areas in both terminals, featuring upgraded seating, additional charging points and enhanced accessibility facilities. They can also enjoy a growing range of retail and food and beverage options, including Discover London stores – stocked with regional produce – in both terminals, GAIL’s first airport bakery and Venchi, the Italian chocolatier and gelato maker, which opened its first UK airport store at London Gatwick.

- Families returning to the UK can benefit from updated eGate rules , with children aged eight and over who meet the height requirement of 3ft 11in now able to use eGates when travelling with an adult
- Plan your journey to the airport in advance and check road and rail travel updates before leaving home
