On August 19th and 20th, Black Tech Day 2023, an engaging and educational experience designed for families and companies, will take over all 4 floors of LSBU, Croydon.
The event aims to bridge the communication gap between parents and children within households by providing entertainment for the whole family while imparting valuable knowledge.
The team will provide financial education and career path guidance through the medium of gaming and tech, hoping to change the stark underrepresentation of Black CEOs and Black individuals within the tech industry.
At LSBU, Croydon, Black Tech Day 2023 promises a weekend packed with entertainment, education, and opportunities. With gamers, influencers, and educators all under one roof.
Conversations at the event will explore the interoperability between Web 2 and Web 3, unveiling pathways for youth engagement in coding, GameFi, and raising awareness about cutting-edge technologies such as AR, AI, and VR. All alongside financial education to help families now and in the future through talks and interactions with educational providers and industry experts.
Nearly 40 guest speakers will be giving talks and tips to attendees over the weekend, this includes TV’s financial advisor Emmanuel Asuquo providing financial advice and BAFTA award-winning TV personality and rapper Big Narstie taking part in a Fifa tournament.
The team is working closely with local education providers LSBU, Croydon College, Croydon Digital Skills Hub, and BIG South London to provide a range of educational pathways on site, including post-16 and adult courses, and apprenticeships and degree paths. They are also connected with local charities, the council, and the local DWP to ensure a range of support services to assist attendees.
