Croydon Council have revealed that they are working alongside partner organisations across the borough to deliver a programme of free activities for children and young people to enjoy over the half-term break.

The youth engagement team will be running activity session at the Samuel Coleridge-Taylor Centre in South Norwood and the Fieldway Center in New Addington. Young people will be able to get involved in dance, arts and crafts, sports, and music production.

Reaching Higher is encouraging young people to get active with rounders, athletics, and creative arts, to build confidence and meet new people. These sessions will take place at Oasis Academy Arena, South Norwood.

Legacy Youth Zone, Croydon’s largest youth space, on Whitehorse Road is also running a holiday club for children aged 8-12.

Councillor Alisa Flemming, cabinet member for children, young people and learning, said: “At Croydon Council, we remain committed to providing safe spaces for our young people to relax and play, enjoy new experiences and develop their skills. Creating positive opportunities for young people today creates a brighter tomorrow for everyone in Croydon.

“By providing free holiday activities for children and young people eligible for free school meals, we’re ensuring they will continue to have access to healthy food and fun, providing much-needed support to parents and carers over the school holidays.”
