World-leading infrastructure consultancy firm AECOM is expanding its MEP Building Services engineering division in Croydon.
The Croydon Building Services team was established in June 2019 and has grown from an initial six to the current 19-strong organically, despite the challenges of 2020.
By being adaptable across a range of sectors, for both private and government clients, and utilising long standing experience of low energy and electrified buildings they continue to actively recruit and expand.
As a company the engineering designers, builders, financers and operators, have been based in Sunley House (pictured) for more than 10 years and have more than 400 staff based in their Croydon office. From this home, the team have been involved in a number of projects across the borough.
One recent project was HM Revenue & Customs’ fit out of their offices at Ruskin Square – the start of the government’s estate transformation programme.
As the brief consultant on the project, they helped design a building accessible and inclusive to all, while also meeting wider government objectives, such as sustainability and a reduced pressure on transport systems. Members of the team also delivered Schroders’ 1 London Wall head office fit out.
Other projects the engineering team are working on across London from their Croydon base include the Bank of England infrastructure upgrade works, Eastbourne Hospital, various projects for local authorities, military, private schools and transportation decarbonisation works as well as the London Power Tunnels.
The Croydon team have extensive experience of low carbon design, and in particular air and geothermal heat pump design stretching back more than 16 years, and are currently involved with several clients to electrify their estates and provide a positive impact to carbon emissions and local air quality.
