Croydon is strengthening its position as one of the UK’s leading investment destinations with the launch of Invest in Croydon – a new platform and brand designed to attract investment, support business growth and showcase the borough’s economic opportunities.
The initiative is a collaboration between Croydon Council and the not-for-profit Develop Croydon Forum, with the new brand and platform delivered by Croydon-based place marketing agency White Label Creative.
The launch supports Mayor Jason Perry’s ambition to drive economic growth across the borough by attracting new investment, supporting businesses and promoting Croydon as a destination to invest, develop, work, live and visit.
Originally established in 2010 by White Label Creative alongside a group of leading developers and Croydon Council, Develop Croydon was created as a not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC) to provide a collective voice for the borough’s development community. Over the past 16 years, it has grown into a partnership of developers, businesses, landowners, education providers and public sector organisations, championing regeneration and investment across Croydon.
During that time, the organisation has helped showcase more than £1.2 billion of inward investment, supported the delivery of around 18,000 new homes, and promoted a borough with an economy now worth £11.7 billion.
As Croydon enters its next phase of growth, the refreshed identity reflects both Develop Croydon’s and the local authority’s growing ambition to be recognised as one of the UK’s most significant economic opportunities.
The new site reflects where Croydon is now and where it is headed. It brings together the investment case, the growth sectors, the development pipeline and the business environment in one place — creating single destination for investors, developers, occupiers and businesses exploring opportunities in Croydon.
Located at the heart of London’s and the South East’s economies, Croydon is one of the UK’s most significant investment opportunities. The borough is a key player in four of the Government’s Industrial Strategy priority growth sectors and continues to attract developers, investors, occupiers and businesses looking to invest in its future.
The new Invest in Croydon platform brings together the borough’s investment proposition, growth sectors, development pipeline and business environment in one place, creating a single destination for investors, developers, occupiers and businesses exploring opportunities in Croydon.
The platform has been developed with the support of Mayor Jason Perry and reflects his commitment to championing investment, strengthening partnerships with the private sector and ensuring Croydon remains open for business as the borough continues to deliver long-term growth.
Executive Mayor of Croydon Jason Perry said: “Croydon has enormous strengths: outstanding connectivity, a talented workforce, a thriving business community, major regeneration opportunities, and a council firmly focused on creating the conditions for growth. Few places offer the combination of connectivity, talent, opportunity, and room for growth that Croydon does.
“More than £1.2 billion of inward investment has come into the borough during my last four years. We’re seeing renewed confidence from investors, and I believe Croydon’s best years are still ahead of us. My mission now is about making Croydon impossible to ignore.”
Richard Plant, Chair, Develop Croydon Forum: “Over the past 15 years, Develop Croydon has played a pivotal role in the transformation of Croydon, with landmark developments such as Ruskin Square, 10 Degrees, St Michael’s Square and Saffron Square reshaping the borough and demonstrating the scale of its ambition.
“Invest in Croydon marks the next chapter. It reflects our renewed focus on attracting investment, championing opportunity and ensuring Croydon continues to grow as one of London’s leading destinations for business, development and regeneration.”
