Croydon’s Executive Mayor has set out a clear vision for the borough through its new Town Centre Vision and Growth Plan. Mayor Jason Perry Rallied the investors, believers and businesses;
‘This isn’t just about growth… This is about belief. Belief in a borough with history, hustle and heart.’
The initial phase focuses on 10 Growth Zone-funded projects, including College Green, Minster Green, the Amplifying Surrey Street project, and upgraded streets around Wellesley Road and Dingwall Road.
A Town Centre Reimagined
The Croydon Project
Croydon Borough Council is working with global real estate firm Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield on The Croydon Project, a mixed-use regeneration of the town centre across Centrale, Allders and Whitgift Centre. The aim is a modern mixed-use town centre with 2,500-3,000 homes, generous public spaces and a broader mix of retail, restaurants and leisure.
A planning application for Centrale was submitted in February 2026, with the Whitgift Centre and Allders site expected later in the year.
£9 Million And Growing
Architecture &
Green Space
New architecture, including Europe’s tallest modular residential towers designed by Tide, sits alongside Croydon’s heritage and brutalist buildings, with the Croydon Urban Room providing a continuing forum for residents to shape the borough’s evolution.
Croydon is also one of London’s greenest boroughs, with 127 parks and green spaces and five nature reserves, four of which received green flag awards in 2025/2026.
