Prologis, a leading investor and developer of UK logistics real estate, has continued its focus of strategic investments in London and the South East with the acquisition of two additional sites at Croydon and Erith.
Totalling over 330,000 sq. ft. on 20.4 acres, the two distribution centres are let to Royal Mail and Ocado and form key parts our customer’s distribution networks, being two of the largest low density last mile logistic facilities inside the M25.
The Croydon unit, located on Beddington Farm Road is let to Royal Mail and reflects Prologis’ commitment to Croydon as a core south London location that continues to see excellent customer demand whilst servicing significant, growing conurbations.
The purchase adds to Prologis’ existing holdings in Croydon, having recently delivered over 339,000 sq ft of prime logistics property on Beddington Lane.
Paul Weston, Regional Head of Prologis UK:
“Our purchase of these two prime distribution facilities shows our continued confidence in the UK’s logistic sector and reconfirms our strategic focus in London and the South East. We welcome Ocado as a new customer and look forward to working with them. It’s great to expand our strong relationship with Royal Mail at a location well known to both parties.”
Gillian Scarth, Capital Deployment and Leasing at Prologis UK:
“The expansion of our Croydon portfolio with the Royal Mail distribution centre is a testament to Prologis’ commitment to investing in the area, and its strategic focus on last-mile logistics.
“London needs logistics property that can support quick, sustainable delivery routes and demand is not likely to subside any time soon. We already have a number of sites in and around London, including Prologis Park Beddington Lane and we are always looking out for more development opportunities, given the area’s prime location for warehousing and logistics.”
